Last year this time, during the month of October, I was walking the Camino de Santiago de Compostela. This year during October I am reviewing my journal from that pilgrimage and it has been a rich time of reflection and continuing of the journey. This nugget came to me as I was walking this day last year:
The Camino doesn’t change you. It shows you who you really are.
Walking the Camino illustrates a fascinating dynamic of independence and interdependence. Walking alone, walking with others, walking alone; a wilderness, a cafe, a mountain, a vineyard…. The Camino route is a continuous cycle of change yet each step on the way is my own. One step at a time, for that day only.
Step.
Step.
Step.
